The First Westcott Wedding
“It is not your love that sustains the marriage, but from now on, the marriage that sustains your love.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Today, Darrell and I celebrate our two year anniversary. Two years! I can still remember November 5, 2011 perfectly from start to finish, even all of the little details that everyone told me I would never notice. (That’s probably the OCD in me, but hey, I’m glad I have those memories!) The day was filled with more love and more joy than I could have ever prepared for.
Which is basically what the last two years of marriage have been like. Sure, there have been moments. (Does anyone else’s husband insist on storing their jeans next to the bed, on the FLOOR? What is that?) But mostly, when I look back on the last two years, all I can think is that marriage is better than I ever thought it would be.

And that’s why I do what I do: Because I believe in marriage. I believe in the purpose of marriage, the covenant of marriage and the resulting call that entering into that covenant has placed on my life. And nothing makes me more excited than getting to share in a piece of that happiness with my brides + grooms who are preparing to say “I do.”
Happy 2nd Anniversary to my one and only! I am blessed beyond measure to be your wife.
And with that, I leave you scenes from the very first Westcott Wedding…

And this is how we’re going into year three: Wide-eyed, excited, in love. We’re ready!
