Westcott Weddings Branding Shoot
This shoot is near and dear to my heart for so many reasons. For starters, Jennifer Nichols took the pictures, and I adore everything she does. She photographed our engagement and our wedding, so at this point, she has documented most of my major life experiences. And embarking on this rebranding journey is definitely something I would categorize as a “life experience.” Soul searching, y’all. Lots of it. So basically, this shoot is like a little piece of my soul. It embodies everything I love about what I do.

I find beauty in simplicity, and I love to pair sophisticated touches with something a bit unexpected and whimsical. Which means, a fancy pop-up picnic in the woods is right up my alley.

At my core, I have a heart for marriage. I love when a bride and groom pour just as much time and attention into their ceremony as they do the reception. I believe that, at the end of the day, a wedding is about celebrating the beginning of a new marriage. The party, of course, is the icing on the cake!

I love fresh flowers and a glass of bubbly. I adore fine china and crystal stemware. Candlelight makes me weak in the knees. And when they all come together? Be still my heart.

I cherish relationships, and I think one of the best things about this job is building them: with my brides and grooms and their families and with the other amazingly talented people in this wedding community.

And, I’m blessed to have first-hand experience with this marriage thing. My husband, Darrell, is my sanity. He is also my right-hand man on wedding weekend. So, if we get to work together (and I hope we do!), you’ll be seeing a little more of him, too. Unfortunately, you’ll only be seeing Trixie if you follow me on Instagram. Trust me, it’s for the best. She barks. A lot.

So many thanks to The Nichols for the pictures that are exactly what I was hoping for; Erin Knipp of Rosehip Flora for the beautiful florals, that as always, were perfect; Samantha Burnett of Wondrous Whimsy for our calligraphed vows; and Avery Allen for making me over! But most of all, thank you for your encouragement and support. It is more appreciated than you know.
And guess what? There’s even more pretty over on Magnolia Rouge!
Love, Ellen
